Notes: Resumen: This paper deals with the characterization of dyes insolutions by UV-VIS spectroscopy and degradation processes of the system ddye-paper substrate by accelerated ageing studied by the reflectance UV-VIS spectroscopy and colorimetry. Six arylmethane dyes were investigated together with phenothiazine dye Basic Blue 9 and wanthene dye Acid Red 87. Spectral and colorimetric characteristics of the dyes during ageing are discussed.
